The first thing Joe Employer is likely to do when he reads your name on a resume is furrow his brow as he tries in vain to recollect where he might know you from, then he’s going to Google up your name. The first thing you should do is to have your name indexed by Google beforehand so you can be found by Joe Employer, and to make sure your good name is associated with quality web content that is related to the job applied for.

Sign up for a free blog at Blogger.com, BlogSavy, Blog.com (and there are plenty others) and start writing. Upload pics of projects your working on, use plenty of industry terminology and brand yourself.
